Cyber Security Manager

Overview

In this Cyber Security Manager role, you will help develop and deliver a cyber strategy while maturing the organisation’s security posture. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with software delivery, cloud, networks and data teams to embed security first practices. The position combines hands-on security work with strategic ownership, including growing the cyber team and influencing governance across the business. A key appeal is shaping security strategy in a cloud-centric environment (AWS with Azure exposure) and steering external security partners to protect the organisation at scale.

Responsibilities

• Review, develop, monitor and mature the overall cyber security strategy
• Grow out the cyber security team in line with the strategy and priorities
• Enhance cloud security strategy for AWS and Azure
• Advise across software development, infrastructure, networks, data analysis and cloud on cyber best practices
• Coordinate with managed service providers and third-party security providers
• Oversee MSSP alerts and implement measures following pentests
• Define what good cyber looks like and communicate it to stakeholders
• Collaborate with external consultants on GRC activities

Key requirements

• Experience in a cybersecurity leadership or strategic cyber role is ideal; strong cloud security or DevSecOps background acceptable with ambition for leadership
• Cloud security knowledge, AWS prioritised and Azure useful
• GRC understanding and policy development
• Ability to interpret and respond to pentest reports
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders up to board level
