Overview

In this role you will translate customer needs into robust mechanical designs for aerospace applications. You will work within cross-functional teams to deliver compliant solutions and contribute to New Product Introduction programs. You’ll tackle design challenges from concept through validation, with emphasis on manufacturability and reliability. This is a hands-on engineering opportunity in a growth-focused company that values collaboration and learning. You will help shape products for Fortune 500 customers in a dynamic, multi-domain environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute design and development projects for aerospace components and systems
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements capture and execution
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes
  • Design and develop structural and/or rotating parts
  • Develop rig designs, analyses, and integration plans
  • Select materials and perform 3D part modelling and drafting
  • Define interface control documents and perform stack-up, layout, clash checks, and tolerancing
  • Apply GD&T and select manufacturing processes
  • Perform design calculations for stress and strength; prepare design definition reports
  • Collaborate with project management to align objectives and progress
  • Present findings clearly at customer review meetings
  • Solve day-to-day design process issues

Key requirements

  • Experience in design and development of structural and/or rotating parts
  • Knowledge of rig design, analysis, and integration
  • Material selection and 3D modelling/drafting
  • Strong understanding of interface control, stack-up and tolerances
  • Proficiency in GD&T, manufacturing methods, and process selection
  • DFM/DFMA awareness
  • Design calculations for stress and strength
  • Experience preparing and reviewing design definition reports
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and project management
