Global Data Center Infrastructure Technical Expert

Overview

In this role you will help design, test, and operate hyper-scale data centers to support TikTok’s rapid growth. You will work with cross-functional teams to review designs, manage global procurement, and define test plans to verify performance and reliability. You will also support on-site operations, incident response, and risk mitigation to ensure safe, stable data center performance. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to shape scalable infrastructure that underpins the company’s cloud services and platform resilience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design reviews for electromechanical disciplines and assess existing design effectiveness for data centers
• Support procurement management for global data center projects and evaluate technical proposals
• Contribute to commissioning discussions and define test plans to verify design indicators
• Assist in empowering operations and maintenance teams and develop response plans for design limitations and risks
• Perform on-site inspections to identify operational risks and ensure safe, reliable data center operation
• Provide on-site emergency technical support during incidents and participate in post-incident technical reviews

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or HVAC
• Lead commissioning teams to perform Level 1–5 commissioning tests and resolve issues
• Familiar with global data center standards and able to review data center drawings
• Experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering: generators, chillers, cooling towers, AHU, UPS, power distribution systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong attention to detail
