Senior Bid Writer

Overview

In this Senior Bid Writer role you will contribute to the creation of high-quality PQQs and tender responses within the Work Winning Team. You will shape written and visual submissions that meet client requirements and reflect the company’s solutions. You’ll collaborate across bid management, business development, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, timely, and polished documents. The opportunity combines creative writing with structured processes to win major civil projects.

Pay / Benefits

• salary 50,000 – 55,000
• plus package

Responsibilities

• Produce written responses for PQQs and tenders, including references, case studies, and project experience
• Support Head of Bid Management, BDMs and Bid Managers in PQQ and Tender responses
• Ensure compliance with Work Winning processes and bid information management
• Support briefings and progress meetings
• Edit and proofread tender documents and coordinate production
• Prepare graphics (flow charts, diagrams, organisation charts) for submissions
• Provide feedback on progress to management and coordinators
• Contribute to final publication and timely client submission
• Maintain the Document Management System for submission records
• Identify and re-work existing pre-written content

Key requirements

• Previous writing experience
• Degree educated in a relevant subject
• Demonstrable high level of competence in written English
• Creative approach to producing submissions for demanding clients
• Proof reading and formatting experience
• Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams
• Advanced MS Word and proficient in MS Office
• Previous experience in proposal writing
• Technical knowledge of civil engineering and the built environment
• Experience in planning and producing successful quality/submission documents
• Experience of working within the bidding process
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Suite
