Project Surveyor

Overview

As a Project Surveyor for a major Tier 1 contractor, you will drive commercial management across subcontract packages to safeguard project profitability. You’ll lead procurement, client valuations, variations, and final accounts while coordinating with project leaders to deliver accurate cost reporting and cash flow forecasts. The role combines risk planning, design strategy input, and compliance with best practices, offering a clear path to more senior commercial positions in a sustainable, inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• lead subcontract commercial management from enquiry to order and payments
• manage client valuations, contract variations, and final accounts for main and subcontract packages
• produce monthly/quarterly cost reports, cash flow projections, and margin forecasts
• support risk and opportunity planning and design strategy development
• ensure compliance with business best practices and procurement processes
• collaborate with project leaders and supply chain to optimise profitability

Key requirements

• proven track record in main contractor commercial management including valuations and CVRs
• Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and MRICS or MCIOB status in progress or achieved
• strong negotiation skills and digital procurement capability
• proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, BIM tools, and computer-aided measurement software
• working knowledge of construction health and safety regulations
• ability to manage client and supply chain relationships
