SHEQ Advisor (North-West)

Overview

As an HSEQ Advisor, you will support multiple construction and civil projects to uphold health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. You’ll conduct site inspections, audits, and safety observations, driving improvements and best practices with project teams. You’ll prepare risk assessments and safe systems of work, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across sites in the North-West. The role offers exposure to major live projects within a collaborative, development-focused employer.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations and identify improvement opportunities
• Assist project teams in implementing best practice across HSEQ
• Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses and implement corrective actions
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety alerts
• Monitor environmental and quality performance and maintain HSEQ records
• Provide regular HSEQ reports to management
• Collaborate with site personnel, subcontractors and clients to promote safety culture and continuous improvement

Key requirements

• ≥5 years’ experience in an HSEQ/SHEQ or Health & Safety advisory role within construction, main contracting or civil engineering
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, auditing, inspections and incident investigations
• Experience with environmental and quality management systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence safety culture
