Security Operations Engineer

Overview

In this role you design and shape the company’s cyber security strategy and architecture to protect systems and sensitive information. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into secure, scalable solutions, addressing threats, compliance, and risk. You’ll lead security design to cover layers, data and API security, and incident readiness, contributing to a resilient, future-ready IT landscape. This position offers impact at scale within a global services organization focused on digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise cyber security strategy and architecture
• Evaluate business strategies to define security requirements and conduct risk analyses
• Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats and design mitigation measures
• Identify design gaps and propose changes to architectures for improved security
• Provide best-fit security solutions across architecture domains (layered security, zoning, integration, API, endpoint, data, compliance)
• Demonstrate security assessments against NIST, SANS, CIS frameworks
• Support deployment, configuration, integration, and administration of security technologies
• Align with ITIL-like processes (incident, change, configuration, problem management)
• Assist in disaster recovery planning for security breaches or intrusions
• Respond to client RFPs with secure, architecture-driven solutions
• Define plans to manage to-be-solution portfolios and investment roadmaps
• Lead technical design, development, and implementation of custom security solutions
• Evaluate current state solutions and design target-state options and trade-offs
• Articulate target architectures and reusable patterns for business outcomes
• Ensure integration with the broader technology ecosystem and track industry trends
• Liaise with stakeholders on cyber security issues and provide recommendations
• Maintain information security risk registers and assist with internal/external audits
• Support security best practices and regulatory requirement alignment
• Deliver cyber security awareness training to teams and customers
• Provide training on phishing and malicious email issues

Key requirements

• Security architecture and strategy development
