Overview

In this role you will strengthen the control environment within Commercial Banking Coverage, partnering with business teams to manage controls, address risk events, and drive improvements. You’ll provide clear analysis and guidance to senior partners, shaping how data, reporting and AI support risk management. The position sits in the Chief Controls Office and offers the chance to influence control design amid a data-driven transformation. You will work across multiple locations in a hybrid setup, contributing to sustainable growth and safer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, maintain and improve the control environment for Commercial Banking Coverage
  • Manage existing controls and support creation, improvement or retirement of controls as processes evolve
  • Lead handling of operational risk events through resolution, identifying control gaps
  • Analyze risk and control data to spot trends and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and present reporting for leadership, committees and governance forums
  • Support investigations and thematic reviews, using evidence to propose proportionate actions

Key requirements

  • Apply risk and control principles to understand controls and drive improvements
  • Interpret management information to identify trends and propose practical recommendations
  • Build constructive relationships with stakeholders and provide appropriate advice and challenge
  • Explain complex risk and control information clearly in reports and governance settings
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting and implement changes
  • Understand AI and automation concepts and their application to risk analysis and controls
  • Experience in risk, controls, operational risk, governance or audit
  • Knowledge of Commercial Banking, customer coverage or relationship management
  • Experience creating or analysing management information using Power BI
  • Experience managing operational risk events, control assessments or related actions
