Overview

As a Senior Legal Project Manager, you will lead matter plans, budgets, and timelines, aligning scope and assumptions across client matters and outsourcing. You’ll manage multiple legal projects to deliver on time, within budget, and within scope, engaging with clients, partners, and colleagues. You will adapt PM tools to legal workflows, develop and deliver PM training, and support bids where LPM and FutureLaw are core. You’ll drive improvements across the LPM function and contribute to a culture that embraces legal project management. The role combines hands-on delivery with team development and advocacy for LPM inside and outside the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of matter plans, budgets, timelines and define scopes and assumptions for client matters and outsourcing projects
  • Manage matters and projects to meet time, budget, and scope requirements, controlling scope/cost creep and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Adapt PM tools, resources and technologies to specific legal practice areas and workstreams
  • Develop and deliver project management training for lawyers and clients
  • Support lawyers in using LPM tools and technologies
  • Support proposals and bids where LPM and FutureLaw are central to service delivery
  • Identify and drive process and policy improvements across LPM and legal service delivery
  • Foster a culture supportive of legal project management
  • Collaborate with Head of LPM to develop the PM team, potentially line-managing juniors
  • Promote TLT’s LPM capability internally and externally
  • Hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office and occasional travel

Key requirements

  • Law degree or equivalent qualification
  • Project Management qualification (APM preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years in a Project Manager role
  • Experience with MS Project and other leading PM tools
  • Proven experience managing legal projects with established PM methodologies
  • Strong analytical and PM skills translating client needs into requirements
  • Experience supervising juniors
  • Understanding of legal matter reporting
  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Creative problem solving and ability to manage critical issues quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across levels
  • End-to-end experience in diverse legal projects and related procurement/implementation projects
  • Ability to deliver and embed Legal and other Tech into a firm with change management
  • Experience in legal sector or professional services PM teams
  • Deep interest in the legal industry and developments in legal services delivery
