Building Services Manager

Overview

As M&E Building Services Manager, you will lead MEP activities from preconstruction through operational delivery across multiple Exeter-area projects. You’ll act as the MEP expert for projects, collaborating with design, preconstruction and site teams to ensure compliant, commercially robust schemes. You’ll manage commissioning, witness sign-off, and maintain strong relationships with the MEP supply chain while driving improvements and lessons learned across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP packages during Preconstruction to deliver compliant, robust schemes
• Support operational delivery and site teams; visit sites as required
• Review MEP installations for compliance with designs, standards, and quality requirements
• Resolve technical queries and support problem solving on site
• Develop installation and commissioning programmes
• Maintain and develop relationships with MEP supply chain
• Lead M&E discussions in design, customer, progress and commissioning meetings
• Oversee commissioning activities and responsible for sign-off with supply chain or independent commissioning managers
• Support commercial teams; contribute to lessons learned and feedback loops to Preconstruction
• Collaborate across the business on MEP services and supply chain; mentor junior staff
• Contribute to quality and customer care by resolving emerging issues

Key requirements

• CSCS card
• Valid driving licence
• Managerial experience in the services sector
• Experience in a BSM or supervisory role in an M&E discipline for Operational Delivery
• Understanding of M&E legislation
• Commercial acumen
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience on a variety of M&E projects across sectors
• Minimum Level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4)
