Overview

Lead Electrical Design Engineer at Baker Hughes, driving design and delivery of advanced electrical and electronic control systems for global energy applications. You will own technical workstreams, coordinate with cross‑functional teams and international customers, and ensure compliant, high‑quality engineering packages from concept to delivery. You will tackle complex design challenges, perform root‑cause analysis, and support on‑site and offshore testing. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and lead design reviews; guide engineers and act as the main technical contact for projects
  • Deliver electrical/electronic designs, analyses and calculations aligned with standards
  • Produce and maintain design documentation (schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams, BOMs, test procedures)
  • Ensure on‑time delivery of high‑quality, safe, compliant engineering packages
  • Respond to technical queries and support workshop/offshore activities and investigations
  • Perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design issues
  • Support development of power, control, communication and electronic/PCBA systems
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and promote best engineering practices
  • Support on-site and off-site test setups, testing, fault finding and investigations

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Electrical/Electronic/Controls Engineering with strong theoretical foundation
  • Proven experience with electrical/electronic design, AC/DC systems, analogue/digital electronics and component selection
  • Fluent English and strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; ability to write clear documentation
  • Ability to create and interpret schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams and product documentation
  • Knowledge of IEC, CE and other relevant international standards; familiarity with risk, EHS and QA processes
  • Knowledge of EMC Testing (advantageous)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PLM, Creo, Altium tools and relevant analysis software (advantageous)
  • Flexibility to support manufacturing, testing and offshore/workshop tasks when required
