Senior Lead Software Engineer – Python / Java

Overview

In this Lead Software Engineer role, you’ll drive the development of secure, scalable technology for the Quantitative Execution Strategies platform, collaborating with front office teams to deliver trusted market-leading solutions. You will contribute as a core technical contributor, shaping architecture and code across multiple areas to support business objectives. Expect to tackle complex problems beyond routine approaches and to foster adoption of cutting-edge technologies. This role offers ownership of platform and visualization components and meaningful impact on intraday trading capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and troubleshoot software solutions with inventive approaches
• Develop secure production code and perform code reviews
• Improve operational stability by automating recurring issues
• Lead communities of practice to promote new technologies
• Act as a front office developer within the QES team and collaborate with trading/structuring
• Develop platform and visualization components for the desk
• Utilize Java, Python, and TypeScript (React) in the stack

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operations
• Advanced Python programming
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Experience leading an agile delivery team (Scrum, sprints, retrospectives)
