Overview
As Manager in Deloitte’s Accounting & Controls Advisory for Insurance, you lead complex insurance finance and controls work for global clients. You’ll direct transformative projects and provide expert accounting and reporting guidance, shaping IFRS 17, IFRS 9, and related standards. You collaborate with senior stakeholders, mentor junior staff, and help grow the insurance practice through thought leadership. This role offers exposure to large-scale transformations and high-impact control improvements.

Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver insurance transformation projects for global clients
- Cultivate relationships with senior client stakeholders as trusted insurance finance advisor
- Provide expert IFRS/UK GAAP/Solvency UK accounting advice and technical papers
- Foster teamwork and mentor junior members within the Insurance practice
- Drive practice growth through knowledge sharing and market opportunity identification
- Lead internal control strengthening, including SOX design, testing, and operating effectiveness across insurance processes
- Oversee end-to-end insurance process documentation linking risks, controls, and reporting outcomes
- Advise on finance transformation programmes ensuring controls are embedded
Key requirements
- Significant experience in insurance audit, advisory, or industry settings with exposure to complex accounting, transactions, internal controls, and finance transformation
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and Solvency UK, including practical IFRS 17 experience
- Awareness of Insurance regulation developments
- Understanding of technology, AI, and automation impacts on Insurance
- Commercial awareness of CFO challenges in Insurance
- Knowledge of end-to-end insurance processes and associated risks
- Experience with risk and control frameworks and SOX requirements
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management, able to influence at all levels
- Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant or equivalent
