Systems Developer – High Performance Trading Infrastructure

Overview

As a Systems Developer in London, you will help build and maintain the backbone infrastructure for high-performance trading and large-scale research. You join a core engineering team focused on distributed, low-latency systems and high-throughput computing. You’ll tackle bottlenecks in kernel, file systems, and networks while shaping internal tooling, monitoring, and data pipelines. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale compute and storage systems used across trading and research
• Architect and implement distributed workload scheduling, fleet orchestration, and performance tuning for a large server estate
• Build internal tools for system performance, reliability, and SDLC lifecycle management
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across kernel, file system, and network layers for low-latency, high-throughput apps
• Contribute to infrastructure monitoring, data collection pipelines, and real-time analytics
• Collaborate with other teams to align system design with evolving trading and research requirements

Key requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience (up to 5 years)
• Proficiency in one or more: Python, Golang, Rust
• Experience with Linux-based environments and networking fundamentals (desirable)
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a high-performance environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
