Environmental, Health and Safety Area Manager, EHS Operations

Overview

In this role you will manage Google’s regional EHS portfolio, leading a team of EHS Program Managers to deliver programs and projects safely and compliantly at scale. You will shape strategic plans aligned with Google’s EHS goals, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive cross-vertical alignment across the region. You’ll lead high-impact initiatives that improve safety practices and employee well‑being across global operations. Responsibilities

• Manage regional portfolio of EHS initiatives and programs across local and regional operations
• Lead and develop a team of EHS Program Managers to ensure effective execution of Google EHS programs
• Support incident investigations and track corrective/preventive actions to closure
• Develop and implement strategic plans for program initiatives aligned with Google’s EHS goals
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster safety and compliance culture
• Lead strategic EHS initiatives and participate in organizational planning to align across EHS verticals
• Coordinate cross-functional projects spanning multiple offices, time zones, and regions

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience in EHS including managing EHS programs and teams in operational environments
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports
