Senior Software Engineer Full Stack – Start-up

Overview

In this role you will shape a brand-new, cloud-native platform from day one within a small, experienced team. You’ll own backend services, APIs and cloud infrastructure while contributing to frontend work, collaborating closely with the CTO. Expect to work on AI-powered features such as meeting transcription and automated reporting, using modern tooling to accelerate delivery. This hybrid, London/remote role offers high impact as the company scales in the fintech space.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a modern cloud-native platform from the ground up
• Own backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure; develop frontend portions
• Architect scalable, event-driven integrations and serverless solutions
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with CTO on technical decisions and standards
• Utilize AI development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code quality and security
• Contribute to architecture decisions in a high-ownership, startup-like environment

Key requirements

• Strong Full Stack experience with Node.js, TypeScript and React
• Experience designing scalable APIs and cloud-native applications
• Experience setting up serverless architectures (Azure or AWS)
• Experience integrating enterprise systems and event-driven solutions
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude)
• Comfort in collaborative, high-ownership, startup-style environments
