Network Engineer – Physical Network Infra – London, UK

Overview

In this role you will design, build, and optimize a global physical network, spanning backbone, data center, public cloud, and edge/CDN. You work with cross‑functional teams to drive network evolution and collaborate with external vendors and carriers. The position involves hands‑on management of major network devices and on‑call rotation, with travel up to 15–30%. You contribute to hyperscale data‑center networking solutions powering global apps. Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate and optimize the global network across backbone, data center, cloud and edge/CDN
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive network innovation and evolution
• Engage with external vendors and ISPs for device and carrier selection, testing and verification
• Maintain and operate network infrastructure with focus on performance, reliability and scale
• Participate in global on‑call rotation and respond to incidents
• Travel may be required up to 15%–30%

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF/IS‑IS and MPLS technologies
• Familiarity with data center architectures such as CLOS
• Hands‑on experience with major network devices (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, H3C, Huawei)
• Knowledge of network monitoring protocols and tools (SNMP, sFlow/netFlow, Telemetry)
• Good communication and written skills; team player; self‑motivated; on‑call readiness
• Willingness to travel up to 15%–30%
