Principal Civil Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead and deliver a portfolio of drainage and non-infrastructure Civil Engineering projects within a fresh, growing consultancy. You’ll build and guide a driven design team in Greater London, shaping project delivery and client relations. You will influence the company’s direction while advancing your CPD and career growth. Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver a range of projects and developments
• Lead and mentor a team of civil engineering designers and support their CPD
• Manage design projects including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and delivery
• Handle infrastructure and non-infrastructure design assignments
• Develop and maintain clients and stakeholders across public and private sectors
• Prepare, check, and submit reports, drawings, calculations, and technical documents
• Enforce company policies and promote best practices
• Uphold health and safety standards at all times
• Contribute to BD strategies and represent the company externally

Key requirements

• UK Degree in Civil Engineering (or cognate)
• Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)
• Significant design consultancy experience in the UK
• Experience with water-based, non-infrastructure projects (e.g., reservoirs, pumping stations, treatment plants)
• Experience producing detailed drainage and civil engineering designs
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
• Experience writing and reviewing technical reports
• Experience managing projects and people
• Experience managing client and stakeholder relations
• Excellent organisation, time management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Full, valid UK driving licence
