Senior Controls Engineer, OT Fleet Management

Overview

In this role you drive regional controls engineering for OT fleet health, focusing on security, reliability, and lifecycle management of data-center OT systems. You will lead Threat Vulnerability Management for BMS, SCADA, PLC, and related platforms, coordinating remediation with vendors and contractors. You’ll build regional capabilities through coaching and training, creating repeatable methods to reduce external dependency. You solve complex technical problems and communicate risk and progress to stakeholders, shaping how critical facilities stay secure and available. Responsibilities

• Own regional TVM execution from assessment to closure, including remediation and evidence capture
• Assess vulnerabilities, obsolete components, OS and database dependencies, network exposures, and lifecycle risks across OT environments
• Develop remediation strategies balancing security, operations, and change risk
• Maintain remediation roadmaps, risk registers, and status reporting; escalate blockers with options
• Support platform modernization, patches, upgrades, migrations, and rollback readiness
• Provide advanced technical support for industrial controls and supervisory platforms
• Troubleshoot controls end-to-end across devices, networks, and data flows
• Review and update control narratives, P&IDs, network diagrams, and system documentation
• Coordinate with IT, cybersecurity, and operations to resolve cross-domain dependencies while preserving site availability
• Lead vendor and contractor remediation activities, including scope, acceptance criteria, and closeout evidence
• Develop and deliver training for local/regional engineers on TVM and lifecycle management

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
• Progressive experience in industrial controls, automation, BMS, SCADA, or OT engineering in mission-critical environments
• Experience with at least two major industrial controls platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, ABB, Ignition, AVEVA System Platform, Schneider Electric)
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, BMS/SCADA, HMIs, historians, gateways, alarms, and system integration
• Advanced knowledge of OT infrastructure (Windows Server, SQL Server, TCP/IP, virtualization, backup/recovery, remote support)
• Experience assessing and remediating OT vulnerabilities/lifecycle risks (patching, upgrades, legacy software)
• Experience directing vendors or system integrators through multi-site remediation or modernization
• Ability to create clear technical scopes, plans, test procedures, and executive-ready updates
• Ability to mentor and influence engineers and stakeholders without direct authority
• Willingness to travel regionally/internationally
