Project Controller

Overview

In this role you will lead the financial management of bids and projects, ensuring accurate costings and strong financial controls. You will partner with the Bid Manager and Project Managers to optimise milestone payments, forecasts, and risk management. You will provide management accounting data, support audits, and drive improvements in finance processes. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-functional collaboration and a clear impact on project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Act as finance lead on bidding activities with accurate costings and financial criteria
• Collaborate with Bid Manager to establish milestone payment plans and prepare bid packs
• Ensure compliance with Bid Process and maintain financial control over projects and bids
• Review project costs, commitments, forecasts and overall financial health with Project Managers
• Present financial status in management reviews and manage project risk registers
• Resolve queries across functions and ensure high-quality project data and management accounting data
• Manage customer financial reporting requirements and support audits
• Identify and implement improvements to finance and business processes
• Handle ad-hoc requests from team leader

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a project-related finance role, preferably in engineering or manufacturing
• Understanding of IFRS 15 and project accounting standards
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with project management software (S4 Hana Public Cloud advantageous)
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
• Relevant qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent degree is desirable
