Senior Engineer – Leicester

Overview

In this role, you deliver robust highway and drainage designs across public and private sectors from a Leicester base. You will own design delivery, ensure adherence to standards, and support project management and client engagement. You’ll help advance sustainable drainage and highway solutions while mentoring teammates and contributing to a dynamic project portfolio. This is a hands-on role with real influence on project outcomes and client relationships, within a collaborative, safety-conscious culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design delivery of highway and drainage schemes to meet standards and client requirements
• Act as a primary client point of contact, managing expectations and relationships
• Support project management, quality assurance and commercial processes including change control
• Mentor and collaborate with colleagues to build team capability
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to integrate solutions across schemes
• Ensure safe design practices and compliance with industry regulations and standards
• Support development of technical submissions and detailed design calculations and specifications
• Deliver projects on time and within budget across diverse schemes (residential to large-scale highways)

Key requirements

• Demonstrable UK experience in infrastructure design, especially residential and drainage schemes
• HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering with eligibility for IEng (CIHT/MICE)
• Experience with statutory authorities and a full UK driving licence
• Knowledge of highway and drainage standards and local authority requirements
• Proven ability to manage projects independently and liaise with clients

• Highway and drainage design experience (S278, S38, S104, S185)
• Knowledge of DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D/Site 3D/PDS, Micro-Drainage
