Responsibilities
- Provide commercial planning advice and formulate planning strategies for sites
- Take new job enquiries and prepare fee proposals
- Proactively manage engagement with local planning authorities and stakeholders
- Assess sites and establish development potential
- Prepare high-quality planning submissions and progress applications
- Research and compile robust evidence to support planning cases
- Prepare design and access statements and other planning documents
- Represent clients’ interests throughout the planning process
- Mentor junior team members
- Develop and maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities
- Stay updated on legislation and government guidance
- Manage conflicts of interest and perform ad hoc team support
Key requirements
- Town planning degree or equivalent
- Full RTPI membership or working toward it
- Knowledge of planning system and experience in consultancy or local government preferred
- Excellent report writing, communication, and IT skills
- Strong interpersonal and client-focused mindset
- Commercially aware with a team-oriented approach
- Full UK driving licence
