(Senior) AWS Cloud Security Engineer d/f/m

Overview

In this role you secure, evolve, and operate the AWS platform used by RWEST teams to run business-critical apps. You collaborate with platform engineers, application teams, and security specialists to embed security into cloud foundations, operating model, and shared services. You’ll design reusable security patterns, improve monitoring and incident readiness, and support secure cloud practices at scale. This position offers impact by shaping secure cloud foundations in a dynamic energy market.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve security controls for AWS platform services
• Translate security requirements into reusable platform patterns and guardrails
• Review architectures and configurations to identify weaknesses and pragmatic remediations
• Enhance AWS security monitoring, logging, and alerting to detect misconfigurations and incidents
• Support incident response readiness with observability, evidence collection, and playbooks
• Collaborate with application teams, platform engineers and security stakeholders to embed security from the start

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience securing and operating AWS environments at scale
• Solid understanding of AWS security architecture and shared responsibility model
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of SSDLC practices and threat modelling
• Ability to review cloud architectures from a security perspective
• Understanding of authentication and authorization patterns
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
