Project Manager – Network Rail Frameworks, Bridges and Structures – Civil Rail – Bristol

Overview

In this role you will lead civil rail projects in Bristol, overseeing Network Rail frameworks and bridge/structure works. You will drive delivery, HSQE compliance, and robust contract control within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll coordinate client expectations, procurement, and planning to meet challenging targets and ensure safe, on-time project outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong emphasis on tendering, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration. You’ll shape project execution at scale within the rail sector and contribute to the contractor’s strategic delivery goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage business results for the project
• Organise project team responsibilities and information flow
• Communicate requirements to the project team and stakeholders
• Set stretch targets and manage delivery
• Oversee HSQE management and IMS plan approval
• Coordinate planning, procurement deadlines, and contract programmes
• Oversee procurement, sub-contractor/supplier awards, and contract management
• Lead change management and training needs, reporting to internal stakeholders
• Represent the project in internal reviews and delivery reporting
• Support recruitment and team development

Key requirements

• Previous Project Manager experience on Civil Rail projects
• Project Management experience
• Excellent leadership and tendering skills
• Valid Full UK Drivers licence
• Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
