Junior Ruby Developer – HTML5, Rails Javascript, TDD

Overview

In this role you will contribute to building and maintaining Rails-based applications and a new web platform, collaborating with a high-caliber tech team. You’ll design REST APIs, implement greenfield features, and participate in code reviews as the platform stabilises on Java, Ruby, and AWS. The environment blends fast-paced fintech challenges with a relaxed, open culture that rewards technical curiosity. This is a hands-on role for a tech-focused junior developer looking to grow quickly while delivering real impact.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing new applications with the team
• Designing and helping implement a REST API
• Helping build a brand-new web platform in Ruby
• Participating in code reviews
• Stabilising the web platform built on Java, AWS, and Ruby
• Collaborating in an Agile-like team to deliver high-quality applications

Key requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Experience designing and building Rails applications
• Ruby
• JavaScript
• HTML
• CSS
• Working knowledge of Linux
• Experience with mobile applications (beneficial)
• Hadoop experience (beneficial, not required)
