Senior Software Engineer

Overview

As a Senior AI Software Engineer at Tipalti, you will architect and scale an AI-native product that automates finance workflows for thousands of businesses. You’ll work in empowered squads to turn ambiguous problems into scalable AI systems and deliver end-to-end, LLM-driven features. Your work spans backend APIs, model orchestration, and retrieval pipelines with a strong emphasis on reliability and measurable customer impact. This role offers ownership of AI architecture, growth opportunities, and collaboration across Product, Design, and Data.

Responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end AI-powered features for a new product
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to shape technical and AI strategy
• Develop scalable backend APIs, microservices, and LLM-orchestration layers
• Create robust evaluation frameworks to improve model performance and reliability
• Write clean, well-tested code around probabilistic/AI components
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and pair programming
• Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering and AI-quality standards
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and shared success
