Senior Civil Engineer – Water

Overview

In this role you will contribute to Scotland’s water and wastewater programmes, shaping design delivery at scale within a multidisciplinary team. You will collaborate with project managers to keep projects on time and within budget, while upholding quality and safety standards. You’ll mentor junior staff, foster clear communication with clients and stakeholders, and integrate SHE considerations across project phases. Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality design work meeting client requirements and standards, taking ownership of personal delivery and that of the wider team
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, cost-effective project execution and monitor programme performance vs baseline
• Ensure high-quality outputs through thorough reviews, with feedback to junior staff where appropriate
• Own elements of project work within a collaborative, team-based environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Develop Design Risk Assessments and Project SHE Plans to integrate safety and environmental considerations

Key requirements

• BEng Civil Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
• Actively pursuing professional accreditation with a relevant body
• Some experience in the water or wastewater industry
