Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction

Overview

In this role you will commercially manage large packages on a major Berkshire construction project, supporting a leading contractor with a track record of delivering prestigious schemes. You will work within a cohesive team to drive cost control, procurement, and variation handling across multi-discipline works. The project involves ~350m of newbuilds with a 5+ year horizon, offering substantial scope to influence financial performance and project delivery. This is a values-driven, development-focused opportunity in a high-profile environment.

Responsibilities

• Quantify and manage commercial aspects of large package works (~€50m)
• Prepare and analyse activity and resource schedules; review tender documents
• Estimate, appraise, and negotiate with third parties
• Review complex contract programmes and assist with delay/disruption planning
• Monitor subcontract activities and report commercial progress to senior staff
• Analyse rates, prices, variations and handle claims
• Prepare procurement programmes and contribute to procurement strategy
• Maintain personal development plans and support team development
• Assist recruitment of junior staff and contribute to mentorship

Key requirements

• Degree qualified (unknown field)
• Member of RICS, ICES or CIOB or working towards it
• Experience in commercial management of large-scale construction projects
• Strong cost engineering, planning, and procurement capabilities
