Senior Internal Auditor

Overview

In this role you will lead internal audits across the International – European Operations division and Group, shaping risk insights and control improvements. You’ll partner with management to address deficiencies, while integrating data analytics and agile practices to boost audit efficiency. The role sits in a collaborative Group Internal Audit function that drives best practices and new initiatives. You’ll contribute to the Centre of Excellence programs and work in a hybrid, international environment with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits across the EO division and Group, including complex reviews
• Plan and test internal audits to high standards and deadlines
• Report audit findings to management and track remediation actions
• Support best practices and initiatives such as data analysis, integrated audits, and agile approaches; coach juniors
• Build relationships with management and stakeholders to monitor the control environment
• Travel to UK, Europe and other international sites as needed
• Participate in GIA Centre of Excellence programs (AI, underwriting, claims, ESG, data analytics, risk culture)
• Contribute to GIA initiatives supporting the GIA strategy

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading risk-based internal audits in insurance or financial services
• Desirable experience in underwriting, claims, reinsurance, or exposure and accumulation management (London Market)
• Professional qualification in audit, insurance, risk management or related field, or progress towards such qualification
• Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze data
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to balance quality and timely delivery of audit outputs
