Global Payroll Specialist

Overview

In this role, you will support a modern global payroll function across EMEA, APAC and North America, ensuring accurate, compliant payroll delivery and governance. You will collaborate with HR, Finance and external providers to optimize processes and enable scalable payroll operations. You will work on cross-country payroll projects, process improvements and governance initiatives, contributing to a Centre of Excellence in payroll. This is a fast-paced environment that blends operational payroll with transformation work and exposure to multiple systems and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple global jurisdictions with accuracy and controls
• Review and reconcile payroll outputs including tax calculations, deductions and benefits
• Partner with HR, Finance and external payroll providers to ensure seamless delivery
• Maintain awareness of payroll legislation and compliance across supported locations
• Support payroll governance, controls, audit readiness and process standardisation
• Act as a payroll SME for global payroll projects and cross-functional initiatives
• Collaborate with external payroll vendors for service delivery management and issue resolution
• Contribute to payroll-related projects including transitions, integrations, acquisitions and transformations
• Develop and maintain payroll process documentation and knowledge resources
• Assist in scaling payroll operations through process improvements and technology adoption
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Engage in stakeholder management across global teams
• Participate in SOX controls, equity processing, M&A or transitions as applicable
• Drive continuous improvement and define operational best practices

Key requirements

• Strong operational payroll experience across multiple international jurisdictions in a global environment
• Experience supporting outsourced payroll models and working with global providers
• Exposure to payroll operations across EMEA, APAC and North America
• Experience in India, US and Canada payroll is advantageous
• Good understanding of payroll controls, compliance, audit and governance
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with proactive issue resolution
• Interest in leveraging AI, automation and technology to improve payroll operations
• Experience with payroll process design, documentation and continuous improvement
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Strong stakeholder management and communication across global teams
• Project and transformation experience desirable
