Cloud Security Engineer

Overview

In this role you help secure Fin’s AI-powered customer service platform by designing and operating secure AWS-based cloud environments. You will build protective and detective controls, lead incident response, and partner with infrastructure teams to embed security into engineering workflows. You’ll drive cloud security standards and AI-assisted defensive capabilities as Fin scales. This position offers the opportunity to influence security across production systems and contribute to trusted, scalable customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS environments
• Build and maintain protective and detective controls to improve threat visibility
• Develop detection engineering capabilities to identify attacker behavior and speed up response
• Lead cloud security investigations and incident response with engineering teams
• Participate in on-call rotation, coordinating containment and recovery during incidents
• Build automation to improve scalability, reliability, and effectiveness of security controls
• Partner with infrastructure teams to embed security into cloud platforms and IaC workflows
• Develop and improve cloud security standards, guidance, and best practices across Fin
• Drive security initiatives from problem definition to measurable outcomes
• Assess emerging threats and evolve defensive capabilities
• Support secure adoption of AI-assisted software development tools and workflows

Key requirements

• Proven experience in cloud security or related field
• Strong experience securing and operating production AWS environments
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
• Experience building or operating detection, monitoring, or threat detection capabilities
• Hands-on experience investigating security incidents and leading remediation
• Experience implementing security controls across cloud platforms
• Strong programming skills and experience building automation or tooling
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and modern cloud-native technologies
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for productivity
