Associate Town Planner

Overview

In this role you will manage your own planning projects, handle applications and appeals, and prepare appraisals and development plan submissions. You will contribute across planning consultancy activities, including research and client-facing work, within a well-regarded Edinburgh practice. You’ll join a growth-focused team delivering planning solutions across diverse sectors. This is an opportunity to shape outcomes for developments while working with cross-functional colleagues in a market-leading firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage own projects from inception to submission
• Manage planning applications and appeals
• Prepare planning appraisals and development plan submissions
• Conduct research and support consultancy activities
• Interact with clients and stakeholders to deliver planning solutions

Key requirements

• RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning
• Minimum 5 years of postgraduate professional experience
• Based in/around Edinburgh or open to hybrid working
• Driving license and access to a car
• Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
