Overview

In this role you will contribute to the university’s data transformation by developing cloud-based analytics and enterprise reporting. You will work with Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, and other tools to enable faster, data-driven decision-making across planning and performance teams. You’ll collaborate across IT, academic and professional services to deploy robust data pipelines and governance, shaping institutional insights. This is an opportunity to influence strategic reporting, analytics standards, and adoption of emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise reporting and analytics in Power BI and Tableau
• Perform quantitative analysis using Snowflake, SQL, and related tools
• Maintain data pipelines and refresh schedules (Alteryx, Snowflake)
• Support fee setting and student recruitment targets in Cognos TM1
• Administer Simitive Workload Allocation Model and lead reporting enhancements
• Provide training and guidance on institutional information and analytics services
• Line management for junior developers (where applicable)
• Promote equality, diversity and sustainability within the team

Key requirements

• Degree level education or equivalent qualifications
• Microsoft Power BI certified or strong Power BI/Tableau/SAP BOBJ experience
• Experience creating data-rich dashboards, DAX, Power Query, and row-level security in Power BI
• Experience with SQL, R, Alteryx, Snowflake or dbt for data transformation
• Data architecture and modelling experience
• Proven ability to communicate data insights to stakeholders
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Ability to work in a busy environment and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of data protection and cross-team collaboration
