Director – Private Tax – London

Overview

As Director in EY’s Private Tax team in London, you will lead high‑profile tax advisory for a diverse client base, including owner‑managed and PE‑backed businesses, and UHNW individuals. You will build and nurture client relationships, shape cross-border tax strategies, and drive value through tax planning and governance. You’ll oversee complex projects, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to the firm’s growth by winning new work. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships
• Proactive business development to win new work
• Manage delivery of technically complex consulting projects with practical, business-focused outcomes
• Provide development support to junior team members through supervision and mentoring
• Contribute to people initiatives including training and retention

Key requirements

• ACA/CTA/Tax Inspector qualification or equivalent
• Strong tax technical skills
• Business development capability to identify and convert opportunities
• Experience coaching and developing junior staff

• Excellent written and oral communication
• Negotiation skills and resilience under pressure
• Strong tax technical skills
• Experience in advising AIM-listed, PE-backed, family-owned and OMB clients
