BI Lead Engineer – Fabric, Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, Operations

Overview

In this role you will lead BI initiatives to support the global Operations function, leveraging Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, and ETL/ELT tooling. You will guide a small team to design, build, and operate data solutions that ensure high availability and performance for mission-critical systems. You will drive migration and integration of legacy finance systems into modern finance platforms, including Fabric, while sharing lessons learned from global deployments. This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership to shape data strategy and delivery at pace.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of BI engineers (5 staff)
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI solutions for global Operations
• Develop and support ETL/ELT processes using SSIS/SSRS and cloud-native tools (Azure Data Factory or Microsoft Fabric)
• Ensure 24×7 uptime, stability, and service excellence for mission-critical systems
• Support enterprise-wide finance system implementations and migration/integration projects into Microsoft Fabric
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data models
• Optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database performance
• Participate in data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning
• Sponsor and enable migration/integration activities across finance systems

Key requirements

• Strong BI/Data Management background with Microsoft SQL Server
• Extensive Power BI experience (Desktop and Service)
• Hands-on ETL/ELT development with SSIS/SSRS and cloud data tools
• Experience with Azure Data Factory or Microsoft Fabric
• Solid database design and data modeling experience
• Excellent SQL skills and performance tuning
• Leadership experience leading data teams in global or enterprise environments
• Experience with finance system implementations and migrations
• Track record of supporting 24×7 mission-critical systems
