Global Air Logistics IT (Senior) Software Engineer Perishables

Overview

In this role you drive the design, development and support of the Air Perishables digital product landscape within KN FreshLOG, enabling time-critical shipments to move globally. You collaborate with stakeholders across business, tech and operations to deliver end-to-end solutions and improve efficiency. You will contribute to architecture discussions, implement robust Java-based services, and advance cloud and CI/CD practices. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations and product stakeholders to analyze processes and design end-to-end solutions
• Participate in design and architecture discussions
• Write clean, well-tested code following agile principles
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and contribute to containerisation and cloud deployments
• Optimize and stabilize Air Perishables applications
• Partner with leadership and teams to deliver innovative, efficiency-enhancing solutions
• Evaluate emerging technologies and share recommendations
• Engage in regular sprint ceremonies

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Full-stack Java development experience with Java 17+
• Strong Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, JUnit, CI/CD, Git, Maven, Docker expertise
• Experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS and frameworks like Angular/TypeScript; mobile tech (PWA, Ionic)
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and API integrations including REST and Kafka
• Practical agile/Kanban experience in distributed teams and ability to work independently
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) is advantageous
• Good communication and global collaboration skills
