Principal Platform Architect (Public Sector)

Overview

As Principal Platform Architect at Kainos, you lead cloud platform delivery that enables large-scale transformation and delivers value to users worldwide. You guide agile teams, set technology direction for AI-enabled delivery, and engage senior stakeholders on strategy and ROI. You’ll evolve the Platforms capability while championing responsible AI use within governance constraints. This role combines technical leadership with high-impact customer outcomes and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud platform delivery underpinning large-scale transformation (migration, modernization, new builds)
• Build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders to set architectural principles and platform strategy
• Lead the Kainos Platforms Capability and mentor colleagues within the community
• Act as technology ambassador, developing blueprints, standards, and customer relationships
• Champion AI-Augmented delivery, exploring value of AI while balancing pragmatism and accountability

Key requirements

• Proven experience delivering platforms underpinning large-scale cloud transformation
• Experience making technology decisions that drive positive customer outcomes
• Strong stakeholder management with executive/C-level engagement
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) covering IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
• Demonstrable coaching and development of team members
• Proven ability applying AI to improve outcomes and translate learnings into improvements
