Credit Analyst

Overview

In this role, you will help shape responsible lending by developing and evaluating unsecured credit strategies. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Data to optimize underwriting, pricing, and portfolio outcomes. You’ll monitor performance, translate data into actionable insights, and build dashboards to support rapid, data-driven decision making. Responsibilities

• Improve credit underwriting, growth, and portfolio risk management initiatives
• Design and roll out lending strategies by deriving insights from data
• Monitor and iterate on existing strategies to boost performance
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, product, risk and control to implement product changes
• Develop and maintain credit models to assess net present value of lending cohorts
• Build and maintain database tables and dashboards for rapid decision making
• Support design and rollout of new products and customer journeys
• Assess long-term performance of lending portfolios for specific products

Key requirements

• Experience in unsecured retail lending (personal loans, credit cards, overdrafts, BNPL)
• Understanding of unsecured lending market and pricing dynamics on portfolio performance
• Experience developing and deploying underwriting strategies
• Strong analytical and data capabilities with SQL (required); Python and Looker (a plus)
• Working understanding of UK lending regulations
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ship changes to customers
• Strong communication skills to articulate decisions
• Experience in project management and cross-team coordination
