Environmental Project Engineer

Overview

In this Environmental Project Engineer role, you will develop and manage environmental requirements across the product lifecycle, supporting robust designs and cost-effective proving strategies. You will collaborate with multiple MBDA functions to deliver environmental test programmes and certify products through concept to in-service support. You will act as a technical interface with customers and internal teams to plan and monitor work packages. The position offers exposure to environmental standards, testing, and data analysis within a defence context, balancing technical rigor with project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Generate environmental requirements and support robust product designs
• Define and manage proving methodologies and test programmes
• Coordinate with project and test engineers to deliver environmental tests
• Act as technical interface with customers for work packages
• Plan, deliver and monitor assigned work packages within responsibility and authority
• Contribute to EE&F strategy to address emerging technologies and threats

Key requirements

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience
• Experience planning, managing and delivering small to medium work packages
• Knowledge of environmental engineering in defence or related industry
• Knowledge of vibration, shock, temperature and humidity environments
• Understanding of environmental test processes, measurements and instrumentation
• Knowledge of international environmental standards (DEF STAN 00-035 / AECTP 300 / AECTP 400 / Mil-std 810)
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
