Overview

As a Manager in Grant Thornton’s Public Sector Consulting Team, you help UK public sector clients deliver strategic outcomes and transform services. You’ll lead multi-disciplinary workstreams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely client impact. You’ll coach and develop junior colleagues while shaping proposals and complex client solutions. You’ll work with a diverse, inclusive team to drive value, performance, and public-interest outcomes at scale. Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality client work in accordance with firm guidelines
• Lead from the front in developing proposals and executing client projects
• Coach and develop junior colleagues to unlock their potential
• Prepare and present professional client reports and project documentation
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and forecasting; monitor debtors
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to build strong relationships
• Contribute to business development and sector thought leadership
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture
• Build a network across Grant Thornton, especially within public sector audit teams

Key requirements

• University qualification or relevant experience (minimum)
• Desirable professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, CIPFA, CIMA, CFA, Prince2)
• Experience in public sector or major transformation assignments
• Ability to deliver projects on time, to quality, and within financial deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven project management skills and stakeholder engagement
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Self-motivated with initiative and willingness to develop technical and personal skills
