Insurance Consultant (Marine)

Overview

In this role you will provide expert marine insurance advice to lenders and legal advisers, reviewing programmes and delivering technical guidance on adequacy. You join a global, specialist marine insurance team serving financial institutions, offering advisory, broking and claims support. You will prepare detailed reports, manage relationships with high-profile clients, and ensure regulatory compliance. The position offers the opportunity to influence insurance strategy for offshore finance clients and contribute to a respected market specialist.

Responsibilities

• Review owners’ insurance programmes and prepare detailed reports assessing cover adequacy
• Provide technical insurance advice to financial institutions and their legal advisers
• Support a portfolio of high-profile finance clients within a specialist team
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with high service and technical expertise
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and mandatory training
• Support financial reporting processes, including monthly income forecasting

Key requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of marine insurance
• Experience providing insurance advice or consulting in marine insurance
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Proactive, client-service oriented approach
