Commissioning Engineer – Severn Trent Water Region

Overview

You will lead commissioning delivery for water industry projects, ensuring MEICA systems are integrated and perform to high standards. You’ll develop commissioning plans and coordinate with client operations to ensure seamless handover. The role emphasizes safety, technical compliance, and collaboration with specialist teams to achieve operational readiness. This is a hands-on position at the heart of project delivery, with impact on quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning delivery from outline design to project handover
• Develop and implement Commissioning Plans and documentation aligned with scope and timelines
• Manage interfaces with existing assets and client operations for smooth integration
• Oversee MEICA installation for compliance with technical specs and industry standards
• Coordinate and supervise testing and commissioning activities (FAT, SAT, dry/wet commissioning)
• Engage with specialist teams to clarify deliverables and timescales
• Support training plans and ensure operational readiness for handover
• Maintain safety standards and Galliford Try processes throughout activities

Key requirements

• Proven MEICA and commissioning delivery experience in the water industry
• Strong site management skills and issue resolution
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment in water treatment
• Structured approach to commissioning plant, equipment, and processes
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation
• LV Electrical Authorised Person (EAP) qualifications/experience (desirable)
• CSCS/ECS Card in appropriate discipline
• BS7671 (18th Edition)
• Full UK driving licence
