Real Estate Associate Solicitor – Development – 5+PQE – Cardiff

Overview

In this Cardiff-based role, you will support a growing Property team with a focus on development work for private and public sector clients. You will handle complex development matters, working autonomously and within a collaborative team to deliver commercially focused guidance. The position offers exposure to major projects and opportunities to grow within a specialty area of property. You will contribute to the firm’s growth while building trusted client relationships and delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Handle land acquisitions via options, conditional contracts and package deals for private developers and housing associations
• Draft and negotiate conditional agreements for lease for pre-lets
• Manage site assembly activities including planning, adoption agreements, utility wayleaves and substation transfers
• Assist with construction documentation as required
• Advise borrowers on development funding requirements
• Conduct full development due diligence for funders
• Manage onward disposals of completed units and investment sales
• Collaborate with development team on major projects and firm growth

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ PQE in property development
• Strong technical competence in complex development matters
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Commercial awareness and pragmatic problem solving
• Confidence in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service
