Overview

As a Customer Quality Assurance Lead, you bridge Safran Electrical & Power UK with customers to ensure design and production meet safety and regulatory standards. You will oversee the customer support program, drive risk mitigation and process compliance, and champion continuous improvement in airworthiness contexts. You’ll work with program teams to fulfil contract expectations and coordinate with design, production, and regulators. This role offers strategic impact through improving quality across multiple customer product lines and production interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and agree KPIs with stakeholders to steer improvement programs and contractual fulfilment
  • Represent customer interests on site to support programs and production
  • Champion defect prevention, root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement using APQP tools (PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
  • Coach and develop reporting engineers; identify training needs and system weaknesses
  • Interact directly with customers and regulatory authorities (EASA, CAA)
  • Support program quality performance for 21G production, driving RCA deployment and timely customer feedback
  • Align production leadership on quality strategies and standardize approaches across product lines
  • Oversee customer complaints and queries, ensuring timely progression and compliance with airworthiness and customer requirements

Key requirements

  • 3–5 years in aerospace in engineering, design & development or quality roles
  • Proficient in problem solving including 8D, RCCA, FRACA; Six Sigma DMAIC (Green/Black) desirable
  • APQP tools proficiency (PPAP, FMEA, MSA)
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 QMS deployment and implementation
  • Understanding of EASA/CAA Part 21J/21G/145
  • Auditing experience; lead auditor trained preferred
  • Experience leading engineering teams in a technical production environment
