Overview
As Metals research strategist in the London Commodities Research team, you will generate thematic research on metals and commodity outlooks and support price forecasts. You will build and maintain forecasting models and databases, and share insights with sales, trading, and clients. Your work informs views across markets and helps clients make informed decisions. This role offers exposure to cross-functional teams and the chance to shape strategic views in a leading global firm.
Responsibilities
- Generate unique, thematic research on Metals/Commodities outlook
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on the metals market, tracking trends, pricing dynamics, and supply-demand factors
- Develop and maintain forecasting models and databases to support research activities
- Communicate commodities views to internal stakeholders in sales and trading and external clients
Key requirements
- PhD or Master’s in economics with extensive experience in macroeconomic research
- or relevant work experience in commodities research within an investment bank or large commodities house providing market views, forecasts and recommendations or investment strategies
- Strong quantitative and analytical background
- Enthusiastic researcher/model builder
- Proven capability for original and thought-provoking research
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and ability to interact with global stakeholders
- Ability to work in a team-based environment and adapt to a dynamic and changing organization
