Overview

As Project Estimator / Proposals Engineer at Sulzer GT Aero, you’ll lead cost estimation and quotation processes for gas turbine repair and overhaul projects. You’ll work with Engineering, Procurement and Production to deliver accurate bids, manage pricing models, and ensure smooth handover to Project Engineers. The role focuses on driving profitability and reducing risk while supporting global customers with reliable turbine services. This is a hands-on role at Netherley, with a clear impact on margins and win rates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations for gas turbine repair and overhaul projects
• Analyze inspection reports and specifications to estimate costs
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Production and internal teams
• Ensure smooth commercial and technical handover to Project Engineers
• Monitor and report on order value, margin reviews and win rates
• Maintain and update pricing models and standard scopes of work
• Build relationships with customers and suppliers to reduce risk and maximise opportunities

Key requirements

• Strong financial acumen and ability to forecast costs and margins
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience in estimating within the rotating equipment MRO industry
• Knowledge of industrial gas turbines and associated equipment (desirable)
• Recognised qualification in engineering (preferred)
