Electrical Shift Engineer

Overview

As an Electrical bias Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will maintain critical building services in corporate environments and respond to engineering emergencies. You work on-site in a shift pattern, ensuring compliance with safety and change management processes. You will support planned and reactive maintenance, keep detailed records, and uphold high service levels for on-site clients. Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems to meet service levels
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as required
• Manage Permit to Work controls and ensure safe working practices
• Maintain critical cooling and domestic water systems in compliance with relevant standards
• Update logbooks and ensure availability of spares for maintenance
• Keep comprehensive maintenance records (task sheets, digital or paper)
• Develop and adhere to Method Statements and Risk Assessments; assist in creating SOPs and EOPs
• Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure contractual and site processes are followed
• Maintain professional client relationships and uphold company image
• Provide shift cover and support annual building shutdowns; undertake other duties as needed

Key requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in critical environments (e.g., Banking HQ, Data Centres)
• LV Authorized Person (Desirable)
• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
• C&G Part 1 & 2, or equivalent
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation (ability to upgrade if only 17th Edition held)
• C&G 2391 testing and inspection; BS 7671:2001 knowledge
• Excellent communication and ability to interact with all levels of staff
• Proactive, IT proficient (reporting and documentation), strong under pressure
