Database Developer

Overview

In this role you will resolve complex data quality and migration challenges across multiple systems while supporting a major data modernisation programme. You’ll work in a small team to develop integrations, support production datasets, and investigate data issues, helping Verisk scale its data capabilities for insurance, financial services, and beyond. The position blends hands-on SQL, ETL work, and data reconciliation to ensure data integrity at scale. You will join a collaborative, people-first culture focused on learning and impact.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve data quality issues across multiple systems
• Develop ETL processes, migrations, and reconciliation solutions to ensure data integrity
• Contribute to database design, performance, security, backup and compliance standards
• Work within the SDLC using Git, JIRA and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage database access, security and availability requirements
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery
• Support production systems and data integrations
• Assist with a major data migration and modernisation programme

Key requirements

• Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Experience creating, maintaining and troubleshooting ETL processes
• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, data reconciliation and stored procedure development
• Detail-oriented, methodical and self-directed problem solver
