Overview
In this role you will strengthen practice across Children’s Social Care by leading quality assurance activities, audits and learning to improve outcomes for children and families. You will operate within a small QA team, partnering with practitioners, managers and external partners to translate findings into practical improvements. The role emphasizes safeguarding, statutory guidance and a measurable link between audit results and service development. You will work in a flexible environment with hybrid options and time in the office to support collaboration and delivery of impact. Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the Children’s Social Care quality assurance framework
- Coordinate the annual audit and moderation programme (thematic, dip-sample, multi-agency)
- Translate audit findings into actions, track completion and test for practice improvement
- Triangulate audit findings with performance data, complaints and inspection learning
- Coordinate moderation, learning forums and feedback sessions for timely sharing
- Ensure voices of children, families and partners are reflected in QA activities
- Produce concise analytical reports for senior leaders and governance forums
- Support Ofsted/ILACS readiness and improvement planning
- Contribute to wider practice improvement areas including assessment, supervision and safeguarding
- Identify and escalate safeguarding, quality or compliance concerns through governance routes
Key requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Experience in Children’s Social Care
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and statutory guidance
- Ability to identify, promote and support good practice
- Experience with quality assurance, audit or practice improvement
- Strong report-writing skills and ability to challenge constructively
- Collaborative working with practitioners, managers, leaders and partner agencies
