Technical Manager – North London – Residential Developer

Overview

In this role you lead the technical and design team for multiple new build residential developments in North London. You will ensure design and working drawings packages are delivered on time and coordinate closely with architectural, commercial, and production teams. You report to the senior technical manager/technical director and drive technical quality across RC frame and timber frame schemes. This is a hands-on, cross-disciplinary leadership role within a growing residential developer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full working drawings packages for residential schemes
• Coordinate with architectural team to ensure timely delivery
• Liaise with commercial and production teams during development
• Lead and manage the technical and design team
• Review and interrogate design information across disciplines
• Identify and manage critical paths and project programmes
• Ensure compliance with Building Regs, NHBC standards, and sustainability targets
• Communicate effectively with all disciplines and levels

Key requirements

• 6+ years of residential developer experience on multiple schemes
• Proven knowledge of detailed design for RC frame and timber frame
• Ability to question design information across disciplines
• Architectural background; AutoCAD beneficial
• Strong understanding of statutory requirements and sustainability
• Ability to interpret and negotiate compliance and project programmes
• Degree level education or relevant professional qualification
• Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
